Vray 1.6 for Google Sketchup

Visual Dynamics presents the new version of Vray plugin for Google Sketchup with a lot of new features like Proxys and the RealTime render wich let us avoid waisting time setting all paremeters and testing one by one to find the final result.  Simply awesome because other softwares were using this since a time ago and Vray for Sketchup users where waiting for an update like that. Expected and one of the best features presented, no doubt.

On the other hand we have proxyes. Amazing. Now we can be able to manage scenes with high resolution and detailed models shown as many polygons as we've set in Vray proxyes menu. We only have to define how many plygons Sketchup is gonna shown us when we see one element. It will reduce in a nice way our rendering time due to Vray will optimize our scene substancially.
See next videos to see what are you gonna get and be able to do with Vray 1.6.

Four Seasons Lobby visualization

Few days ago, I found at evermotion.org a making of work by Mateusz Szymiczek, the owner and one CG artist of Visual Studio.

I'd like to share that making of and my congrats to Visual Studio for that awesome work!

Free HDRI environments

HDRI environments are used to light an scene instead using the GI lighting process.
What your render plugin, in my case, Vray, is going to do is use that 360º image to simulate a 360º environment with it's own ilumination sources. Due to your GI engine is going to be desenabled during that lighting process, light is going to be generate by the brightest zones of the 360º environment, giving you a really nice and real result to your scene. It's like a real world environment.
Here there are some render examples with HDRI environment.

Now it's time to practice, practice, and render your scene changing your render settings. With some time and few tips, you can easilly improve your final renders.
Check out hdrmaps.com to find some free HDRI environments and make your own tests.

Some sources to get your textures

One of the most important part during rendering process is about texturizing your model. For most of us, the longest and hardest process during it until you don't have a material folder base on your computer.
For that reason, let's see where can we find some stunning textures for our models.
Take care about which render plugin are you using on your proces, and its version, cause not all material packs work on the same way for every different plugin.
